Bölüm 2: Gramer - Var / Yok (There is / There are)
İngilizce'de bir yerde bir şeyin olup olmadığını ifade etmek için There is ve There are yapılarını kullanırız. Aralarındaki fark, sayılardır!
Tekil Varlıklar İçin (Singular Nouns): There is
Tek bir nesneden veya kişiden bahsederken There is kullanırız. Genellikle There's şeklinde kısaltılır.
- There is a park in my neighborhood. (Mahallemde bir park var.)
- There is a school on the street. (Sokakta bir okul var.)
- There's a shop near my house. (Evimin yakınında bir dükkan var.)
Çoğul Varlıklar İçin (Plural Nouns): There are
İkiden fazla nesne veya kişiden bahsederken There are kullanırız. There're şeklinde kısaltılabilir ancak bu daha az yaygındır.
- There are many houses in the city. (Şehirde çok ev var.)
- There are three schools in this town. (Bu kasabada üç okul var.)
- There are some shops on this street. (Bu sokakta birkaç dükkan var.)
Soru Cümleleri (Questions): Is there...? / Are there...?
Bir şeyin olup olmadığını sormak için cümlenin başındaki is veya are kelimesini başa alırız.
- Is there a hospital here? (Burada bir hastane var mı?)
- Are there any parks in the city center? (Şehir merkezinde parklar var mı?)
Olumsuz Cümleler (Negatives): There isn't / There aren't
Bir şeyin olmadığını belirtmek için is veya are kelimesine not ekleriz.
- There isn't a cinema in my town. (Kasabamda sinema yok.)
- There aren't many apartments on this street. (Bu sokakta çok apartman dairesi yok.)
📌 Unutmayın: There is ile tekil, There are ile çoğul kullanırız.

Açıklama: Soruda mahalledeki okul sayısı soruluyor. Metinde "There are 3 schools in the neighborhood." cümlesi bu bilgiyi veriyor.

Metin: The city has many parks but there aren't any cinemas.
Soru: Are there any cinemas in the city?
Soru (Türkçe): Şehirde sinema var mı?
Cevap: No, there aren't any cinemas in the city.
Cevap (Türkçe): Hayır, şehirde sinema yok.
Açıklama: Metindeki "there aren't any cinemas" ifadesi, şehirde sinema olmadığını açıkça belirtiyor.
